Bollywood actress Amrita Rao’s younger sister Preetika Rao is ready to follow her sister’s footsteps, but with a different medium. She is set make her acting debut, not in Bollywood but in small screen industry with Farhan Salaruddin production show for Colors. Writer Farhan Salaruddin earlier debuted as producer with the crisp and unique show Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadunga on Imagine TV.

According to the reports he is coming with a new show on Colors that is likely to go on air along with Saurabh Tewari’s (Nautanki Telefilms) Rang Rasiya, featuring Ashish Sharma and Sanaya Irani as leads. Both shows will fill the time slot when Bigg Boss season 7 ends.

Preetika, who is said to play a Muslim girl in the show that will be based on the background of the community, has been an important find for Colors who apparently feature in Anil Kapoor’s thriller 24. As per the sources, Preetika’s work in 24 caught the eyes of the channel and the pretty looking actress suited well into the character of a Muslim girl for the new show on Colors.

Buzz has that new face Harshad will play the male lead in this social drama.

Bollywood actress Amrita Rao is currently busy in shooting of Satyagraha, 2013’s highly anticipated film that has Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor and a lot established actors in the lead.

This film is going to be Amrita’s second venture where she suggested being in maverick performer, post her last released Jolly L.L.B, of which she has received quite a lot of critical acclaim for her polished act, opposite Arshad Warsi. Looks like Amrita is in no mood to stop here as her film with Sunny Deol is another one to watch out for, not only for her countless fans but also for the lovers of good cinema.

The film based on education mafia action drama has been titled Singh Saheb The Great, which marks the comeback of macho man and original action hero, Sunny Deol, and also director Anil Sharma, Gadar fame. They together also worked in 2007’s release Apne.

On being quizzed about the character, Amrita said she will be seen playing news reporter’s role for the first time in her career. “I play the role of a journalist in Singh Saheb The Great. I essay a very important role, that of a righteous kind of a scribe. My heart is on the right side of things in Singh Saheb The Great!”
