Television heart throb Barun Sobti ranked third among the 50 Sexiest Asian Men in the world. According to the survey organized by Eastern Eye newspaper, Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar scored the top position, followed by Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Barun Sobti, better remember as Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, rose seven places from last year to third place on the list. Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, who compiles the annual list and is chairman of the judging panel, said, “The very big surprise of the 2013 list was Indian actor Barun Sobti, who rose seven places from last year to third place on the list, despite being off-screen since he left hit TV serial Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon to pursue a movie career in 2012. Sobti led a burgeoning group of television stars that are clearly giving their film contemporaries a run for their money in this year's list.”

Other television actors who scored in the top 50 sexiest men included Kushal Tandon  (9), Gurmeet Choudhary (11), Karan Singh Grover (13), Rithvik Dhanjani (15), Salman Yussuf Khan (20), Gautam Rode (23), Vivian D Sena (24), Eijaz Khan  (42) and Karan Wahi (46).

“Television actors are playing a much bigger part in the lives of people and that probably explains why so many film stars use television to promote their movies. It also explains why movie producers are now signing up TV stars,” explained Nazir.

Television popular Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani also made in Top 10 in Sexiest Asian Female category.

Big applause for the telly stars for stealing the thunder at international ground!

Popular TV actors Barun Sobti is poised to make his Bollywood debut as hero with Main Aur Mr. Right and 22 Yards that are set to release this year in December. The actor, better remembered with his popular shows like Baat Hamari Pakki and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, speaks about his role in Main Aur Mr. Right and says he is playing a wannabe model who came to Mumbai to become an actor.

“I am playing a wannabe model and I relate to the character in Main Aur Mr. Right because I came to Mumbai to become an actor.  I play a big Salman Khan fan, I dress up and try to talk like him. It’s a serious subject but dealt with in a lighter vein,” said Barun, who is highly excited.

Does it mean Barun has undergone through a rigid workout regime to get into the shoes of his role? He said, “I do not need to work-out much as I am an Ectomorph. I have no personal diet mantra. I eat anything and everything. I am a big time foodie who eats 6-7 meals in a day.”

“I eat a bowl of dal, one chapati with some vegetable and curd. I generally have dinner twice as I do not like to stuff myself with too much food at a time. It is good to eat at regular intervals,” added vegetarian Barun.

When asked about most unusual dish he has ever tasted, Barun said, “There was this incident which happened when I’d been to Singapore. There was something with the water there which people consumed with squids. Maybe it’s good for them but it was really weird for me.”

We wish Barun luck, success and health!

There is no second thought that the new promo of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon-Ek Bar Phir is quite enchanting and appealing that features Avinash Sachdev  as a angry young man. But as this is a sequel to immensely popular Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, which starred Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti, there is a huge pressure on the new leads to fulfill the expectation of loyal fans.

However, protagonist Avinesh is not nervous to face the challenge. “I think we were destined to be part of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya... sequel because this same show was earlier titled something else which even we didn’t knew but we were co-incidentally using the sets of Iss Pyaar Ko... and now finally we are part of Iss Pyaar Ko's sequel,” shares Avinash.

About the responsibility to carry forward their legacy and the attachment that fans have towards the show, the confident actor said, “Iss Pyaar Ko fans might not be happy but my Chhoti Bahu fans are very much happy with me doing the sequel of Iss Pyaar Ko...Though sequels are not new for me as I have done Chhoti Bahu Sequel but it's great that I am doing a sequel of a show which was not mine earlier.”

Avinesh doesn’t fear to be directly compared with the Barun and said fans will gradually like his work. “No, I am not nervous. In fact I love my character and I am doing my best. Fans would see me in a very different avatar this time as I will be portraying a character which I have never done before.”

Undoubtedly, fans would miss Barun-Sanaya sizzling chemistry this season, but this is life, one has to move on. If Barun is not available to associate with Iss Pyaar..anymore, one has to replace him one day. And it seems Avinesh is a perfect opt by the makers.

Let see how the things will turn up in new season! We are crossing our fingers!
