Grand Masti collects Rs 66.48 crore in its first week!

The latest buzz in town has that sex-comedy Grand Masti has collected Rs 66.48 crore in its first week. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film released on September 13, opened with Rs.12.51 crore. It stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani along with six actresses.
Grand Masti, which is a sequel to Masti (2004), took nine years, to make, however, if believe the filmmakers, producer Ashok Thakeria and director Indra Kumar, the third installment of the franchisee would be ready in just nine months.
Says Thakeria, “Yes the magnitude of success of Grand Masti has taken us all aback. Even on Monday the shows are going full everywhere. God has been kind. We are definitely going into Masti 3 right away. The first sequel took us nine years to make. The second sequel will come in much less time, I promise you that.” It will also be far more sexy raunchy and in-your-face.
He added, “The audience loved our sense of humour. The 2009 released flick Masti
was one of the most liked films of the year that received many
accolades that the director went further to make a sequel to it in the
form of Grand Masti. The trailer
of the movie is doing all good till now and we are hoping for great
success to come its way. The lead actor of the movie Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh recently unveiled the first poster of the flick at the Radio City 91.1FM studios in Mumbai.
The excitement of the fans has obviously doubled after watching the posters as the three are ready to bring the fun, frolic and confusions back.
Speaking of the comedy film, the actor Riteish said, “Grand Masti is such a film where every scene is like an item with a punch, so we wanted such a music which would go well with the film and it should be exciting when you hear it and perform on it. While shooting the film, whenever a song from the film was played, not only us, but everyone on the sets started dancing along.”
We are not sure if the movie will get a thumbs up or a thumbs down, but we sure are excited to know if the results of this one match or surpass the results of the prequel.
