Breather has come for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release Boss, as on Friday, Delhi High Court put away a PIL seeking a stay on the release of the film after its director Anthony D’Souza assured that the objectionable word in a song, sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh in the film, has been muted.

For those unaware, the decision came from a division bench of Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Manmohan. "The word in the song has been muted and the Central Board of Film Certification has issued a certificate in this regard on Oct 9," counsel for the producer told the court. The film will hit the theatres on October 16.

It is learnt that Sanjay Bhatnagar, who is a practicing lawyer, filed the PIL, through counsel R.D. Rana, who further asked how the song with vulgar lyrics was released without Censor Board's approval. The plea stated that the song sung by rapper Honey Singh had a vulgar word and it is being shown on various TV channels and other media.

Bhatnagar had sought that the release of the film gets suspended till either the words or the song is deleted completely from the film.

Fair decision, we say!

Big news for big time entertainer duo, Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan, as the promo of their upcoming film Krrish 3, which is the third installment of famous superhero franchisee, Koi Mil Gaya, has become a big hit among the viewers.

Just after the four hours of its launch, the promo registered over 4.8 million hits online. Undoubtedly, joy seems no bound for the director and he is super pleased with the response.

"That's so cool! Rocking Roshans are back," tweeted Shahrukh Khan while Karan Johar posted, "It is undoubtedly going to be a superhero of a blockbuster this Diwali. Box-office collections will reach unimaginable heights." Farhan Akhtar tweeted, "I feel safe knowing Krrish is around." Sonam Kapoor states, "Love the trailer... very cool."

Roshan Sr on his part said, "I thought that people would like it, but not in such a way that it would go viral within hours," he says, adding that he's proud of his team, "My direction team, production team, the VFX team, the technicians and the actors have been on the same page and helped me translate my vision on screen."

Quiz how he edited the trailer, to which he replied, "The idea was to show the canvas of the movie... the evil and the good part. I didn't want to reveal any part of the story, because we have to maintain curiosity when people come to the theatres to see the film."

The 2009 released flick Masti was one of the most liked films of the year that received many accolades that the director went further to make a sequel to it in the form of Grand Masti. The trailer of the movie is doing all good till now and we are hoping for great success to come its way. The lead actor of the movie Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh recently unveiled the first poster of the flick at the Radio City 91.1FM studios in Mumbai.

The excitement of the fans has obviously doubled after watching the posters as the three are ready to bring the fun, frolic and confusions back.

Speaking of the comedy film, the actor Riteish said, “Grand Masti is such a film where every scene is like an item with a punch, so we wanted such a music which would go well with the film and it should be exciting when you hear it and perform on it. While shooting the film, whenever a song from the film was played, not only us, but everyone on the sets started dancing along.”

We are not sure if the movie will get a thumbs up or a thumbs down, but we sure are excited to know if the results of this one match or surpass the results of the prequel.

Looks like Madras Cafe is turning out to be a film which is too bold for its own good. With the film’s second trailer release, a fresh bout of controversies is rising. Madras Cafe’s second trailer is out and it talks about the assassination of India’s ex Prime Minister. The trailer also shows a Tamil rebel group leader Anna played by Tamil actor Ajay Ratnam. Call it a coincidence but the actor bears a very close resemblance to the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. The look and the costume are similar to the rebel leader as well.

The Tamil group Naam Thamizhar have already expressed their objection to the film’s release as they are alleging that the film is showcasing the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) in bad light. The group has also demanded that they should be allowed to preview the film before the release. However, the film’s director Shoojit Sircar has denied the allegations. “Any fictional story will take things from real events. And for this film it is the backdrop of Sri Lanka, so, obviously, it refers to all those who were part of that time -- from the rebels, to civilians, to the peace force and the governments of Sri Lanka and India. Please watch the film before arriving at any conclusions.”

Earlier Shoojit Sircar had said that “There is a fictional rebel group in the film but we don't call them the LTTE and unless you see it you can't pass judgment.” Well! Simply calling the rebel group by a different name may not save the day for Madras Cafe if there is any protest post release. As of now, the makers of the film are very happy that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board and is releasing on the scheduled date of 23rd August.

Madras Cafe starring John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri has been directed by Shoojit Sircar and is slated to release nationwide in theatres on 23rd August. It is co-produced by JA Entertainment, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Rising Sun Films.

Here is another hummable song for the music enthusiasts. The song featuring Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush is for Aanand L Rai’s upcoming film Raanjhana. The song Banarasiya features the lead pair’s sweet chemistry -- a high school romance blossoming into tender love.

The video of the song is worth a watch as it is both engaging and entertaining. Besides Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, the video also has Swara Bhaskar. The scenes between Dhanush and Swara render a fun quotient to the video.

When it comes to the song, it is composed by A R Rahman, who has once again dug into the rich trove of traditional and folksy tunes to deliver a song like Banarasiya. Pornstar-turn-actress Sunny Leone is said to have signed a film with Kaizad Gustad, who is best known for directing Boom. For the uninitiated, Gustad has been missing from film scenes following a fatal accident of a crew member while shooting his last film, but now he will be returning behind the camera.

In the past, the filmmaker had announced a couple of projects; however, none could see the light of the day. So, this time, Gustad is maintaining this secrecy around his film, and is said to have roped in Sachiin Joshi for the film.

Said to be a comedy-thriller, the film is along the lines of the Oceans series, and will either be titled Jackpot or Full Jhol. The shooting of the film will start next week in Goa and will be a start-to-finish schedule. Apart from Sachiin Joshi and Sunny Leone, Kaizad is also in talks with Naseeruddin Shah for a pivotal role in the film. As for the story, the film will feature five characters all of which, including Sunny Leone, are grey.

Bollywood starlet Jiah Khan suicide at Mumbai home

(Reuters) - Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her home in Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.
Khan, 25, was found hanged in her room on Monday night by her mother with a post mortem to be carried out to establish the cause of death, a Mumbai police official said.
But a police source said the death was not being treated as suspicious as it appeared to be suicide although no suicide note was found.
He said police had questioned Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, to whom Khan had made her last phone call.
Khan, whose real name was Nafisa Khan, was born in New York and grew up in London. Her website said she went to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg's Institute.
Khan made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Ram Gopal Varma's "Nishabd", playing the 18-year-old female lead opposite one of India's leading actors, Amitabh Bachchan, in a film loosely based on Vladimir Nabokov's classic novel "Lolita".
"Nishabd" received mixed reviews and did not do well at the Bollywood box office but Khan went on to play supporting roles in two blockbusters, the psychological thriller "Ghajini" in 2008 and the comedy "Housefull" in 2010.
Her death shocked the Indian film industry.
"Never ever seen a debutant actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when i was directing her in Nishabd," filmmaker Varma wrote on Twitter.
"I dont know the reason what led to this but jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future," he said in another tweet, adding that the actress had not worked for the past three years.
Fellow actress Dia Mirza tweeted: "RIP Nafisa (Jiah) Khan. You were too young and beautiful."

Lootera has brought a big surprise for music lovers as its songs have come like a breath of fresh air for them. Composed by Amit Trivedi, they have voices of singers like, Monali Thakur, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Mohan Kanan, Swanand Kirkire, Amit Trivedi, and Shilpa Rao.

It opens with Sawaar loon, sung by Monali Thakur; the song becomes more interesting as it progresses. Melodious and rhythmic, it talks about a girl's dreams. Then there is Ankahee, sung by Amitabh Bhattacharya in a beautiful, magical way. It touches the listener in a romantic way.

Shikayatein is a duet by Mohan Kanan and Amitabh Bhattacharya which brings novelty in the music scene. The chorus has been giving a lot of attention and space in the song and the drums join in to make it foot-tapping. Amitabh and Swanand Kirkire give a regional and classic touch to the next track, Monta re. Infused with Bengali lyrics, the song talks about an innocent heart which has lost its way.

Amit Trivedi goes behind the mike for Zinda, a song that has mass appeal as it talks about melancholy in a very poetic and beautiful way. Last is Manmarziya. Sung by Shilpa Rao, Amitabh and Amit, the romance is toned down in the song. A soothing track, it does not lack in melody.

In all, the album has fine compositions. No item numbers, no discotheque peppy tracks. It is a relaxed compilation of songs. We can say that Trivedi meets the expectations of his fans.

The film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha! It is to release on July 5.

Film production is the new field in entertainment industry that is catching the fancy of every B-town actor. Post the likes of Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Aamir Khan foraying into the same, we even saw actresses like Lara Dutt, Shilpa Shetty trying their hands on film production.

And next name in line happens to be of Bobby Deol, who following the path of daddy Dharmendra and elder brother Sunny Deol is to get involved in production with Cheers.

"It is a known fact that Bobby is the laadla of the family and though he is forty plus, the fact remains that he is still the youngest of the Deols. Whenever the family has produced films, he has been involved but not to as much extent as Sunny. Of course Dharamji can't be expected to do all the running around but he does aid in creative decision making. On the other hand Sunny has ensured smooth making of the films. That has been the case with Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 as well which has been nurtured by Sunny right from inception. Now it is time for Bobby to enter the arena," informed a common friend.

Though Bobby will have a major role to play in the home production now on but it won’t call for some major role change per se.

Bobby confirmed the same saying, "Yes, I am getting involved in production and handling Cheers. It is a double responsibility of course as I have to act as well as producer. Looking at my brother who has managed to do it so many times, I am all charged up as well. I have to step in for him now as it's all in the family".

Meanwhile, YPD 2 also starring Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva is all set to hit the screens on June 7!

Freida Pinto opts out of NH10, Sonam Kapoor to fill her space!

The Slumdog Millionaire fame Freida Pinto, who was in headlines for her Bollywood debut with Navdeep Singh’s much hyped project NH10, has withdrawn her name from the project owing to date issues.

The project, which was first scheduled to go on floor in March, however came with the initial hiccup of Eros opting out of co-production. Later the film's shoot was postponed to June. But now the whole venture has re-scheduled and shifted to October. Freida, who was very excited about her venture in b-town got irked on the entire date changing farce and has promptly walked out from the project.

And if believe source producer Vikramaditya Motwane and director Navdeep Singh have decided on roping in a more commercial actress, Sonam Kapoor as the lead. Sonam is currently busy in last minute shooting of upcoming film Raanjhana, if things fall all right, she would star in the thriller NH10.

As of now, she is concentrating on her much anticipated work Raanjhana that also stars Dhanush and Abhay Deol. Directed by Anand L. Rai, it will release on June 21.

Salman and Katrina have worked together in Partner, Yuvvraaj and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya but weren’t paired opposite each other. Yash Raj Films’ Ek Tha Tiger was the first film which saw the two good-looking people play lovers. Their steaming chemistry broke all the box-office record. They received huge popularity post Ek The Tiger and fans are now fervent to see the couple back on big screen.  

Well, if all goes correct fans will get a treat by veteran filmmaker who has approached Khan and Kaif to do an item number in his upcoming. “Sawan Kumar wanted to make Souten 2 from a very long time now. Lot of people thought that the sequel would never work out. But looks like there has been some progress on the project.  The film gave some memorable tracks including Shayad meri shaadi ka khayal but the sequel will have a different kind of music,” informed source.

Actress Vishakha Singh, who is all set to be seen in Vikram Bhatt’s Ankur Arora Murder Case, recently revealed that it was talk show Satyamev Jayate which temped her to take up the film. She feels nowadays focus is more on earning comfort than saving patients.

"Last year, when I was watching Satyamev Jayate and how Indian Medical Association opposed Aamir Khan, I felt sad. Even though being a doctor is a noble profession, there are doctors who forget that there is a living being right in front of you and you have to take greater responsibility," said Vishakha.

Produced by Vikram Bhatt, the film revolves around a child who dies on the operation table due to medical negligence. "When Vikram brought the film to me, I was confused as he is known for his horror films. I liked the fact that it`s a simple, non-complicated, and competent film. That is what attracted me," said the actress who will be seen with actors like Tisca Chopra and Kay Kay Menon in the film.

"If it was any other role, like a lawyer and RJ, one still knows. The entire language here was different. For me, my best friend is a doctor and have five uncles who are doctors and I also watched a lot of Grey’s Anatomy, which helped. Also, we had a doctor on the sets, which helped too," she said.

If believe the latest buzz, Sohail Khan directorial upcoming film Mental, which stars his superstar brother Salman Khan, is likely to hit the screens on Republic Day.

According to a close friend of the Khan family, "While Salman and Sohail were initially contemplating releasing their film mid-January, they're now planning to come out with it on January 24. Previously, they were doubtful about this date as Republic Day falls on a Sunday."

Little birdie also chirps, while discussing release dates recently, even Sohail was asked about Salman missing from this year's Eid and returning to his lucky festive slot next year with Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick. "Sohail smiled and remarked, 'whenever Salman bhai's film releases, it's like Eid'," recalls the informer, adding that the Khans are upbeat about Salman's string of superhits.

I was inspired by Jaya Bachchanji in Guddi for Raanjhanaa, says Sonam Kapoor!

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who awaits the release of forthcoming film Raanjhanaa, claims to have taken inspiration from Jaya Bachchan’s character in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Guddi.

Confirmed Sonam Kapoor, "I needed a reference point for my character… a naughty spunky school girl. I had already seen Guddi, but I saw it again before shooting for the film. I was inspired by Jaya Bachchanji in Guddi for the film".

She quite enjoyed shooting for the film, as she added, "I studied at a very conservative school... I was not allowed to wear short skirts or be boisterous or have fun with the boys, but through the course of this film I did everything that I couldn't do in my school days."

With music composed by A.R Rahman, Eros International’s Raanjhanaa, directed by Aanand L Rai, starring Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol is scheduled to release on 21st June 2013.

Helmed by the highly acclaimed film Udaan director Vikramaditya Motwane, Lootera is a period love tale set in the 1950s. It has Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh in lead.

As goes with the Bollywood love sagas, music happens to be the key element or one can say that it is the soul of any Hindi love story. Lootera too is no exception in the case as it has the young and versatile Amit Trivedi composing music for it. Sawaar Loon was the first song released from the album, which has impressed the music buffs.

Second one in the line is Ankahee. While Sawaar Loon was a soothing song inspired from the melodies of the 60s, Ankahee is quite contemporary with tripping dignity in its tune. The song has been wonderfully rendered by Amitabh Bhattacharya. In the video, one can see glimpses of love and separation along with the pain the two lovers undergo.

It is to note that Lootera is the first film from the Phantom production, owned by four prominent filmmakers: Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl. It is quite apparent that the eminent filmmakers have high hope from it. It is co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. Awaiting the release of her film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, directed by Ayan Mukerji, actress Deepika Padukone is happy to team up with Shah Rukh Khan in Chennai Express.

This is the second time the two have teamed up as earlier in 2007 Deepika made her debut in Bollywood opposite SRK with Om Shanti Om and says now she interacts with him more freely and they share a friendly equation.

Quizzed how it was to work with SRK for the second time, she said, “You know, when we did Om Shanti Om, I was a newcomer, nervous and awkward. Today, I can speak to him much more freely. Today, we share a friendly equation. Shah Rukh is a sport. Unfortunately, a lot of people don`t get his sense of humour. Shooting with him is a breeze. He lightens the atmosphere and makes everything so easy.”

On whether she faces him more confidently this time, Deepika said, “You know, unlike our other film together where there was a large cast, in Chennai Express there is an added pressure because it’s a romantic comedy where the focus throughout is on Shah Rukh and me. For two actors to carry off a comedy on their shoulders is not easy. I am glad I’ve Shah Rukh in Chennai Express to make sure I don’t flounder.”

Her film YJHD also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. It releases this Friday!

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is extremely proud of the actors of his upcoming film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deepika and can’t stop praising the. If believe Karan, YJHD lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone create magic on-screen.

Says Karan, "If two actors have an equal creative give and take between them, it translates beautifully on the screen and engages you as an audience member. Ranbir and Deepika must work together again."

About the lead pair's emotional investment in the film, he adds, "They care enough to contribute together to create magic. Ranbir and Deepika feel strongly for director Ayan Mukerji. Their emotional investment is high."

About their roles, he says, "Deepika's character has to show two aspects of her personality — one is scholar Naina, a bookworm who hasn't had fun or seen enough of life. The other is a more evolved woman. Deepika is someone who can do both," he explains, adding, "Ranbir is a big star and there's no role he can't do. Ayan was sure he would be the best actor to play the quintessential lover boy."

On the film’s storyline, he says, "It's a film about love and friendship. There's no archaic conflict here; the conflict is internal. It's about Bunny's coming of age. It's about how he succumbs... whether he should commit to love or not."
